Getting Started

The Central Coast is a fantastic place to start your cycling career.  Whether you’re getting onto a bike for the first time (or thinking about it), or getting back into it after decades off, we can make it easier.  We also have a huge group of juniors riding across all age divisions.

The first thing you need to know is that we have a really engaged team of coaches and mentors within the club to help you get started.  Whether you need to understand basic fitness and training, bunch riding etiquette or are after a racing mentor to ride with you for your first race, club members are always happy to help out.

One of the best ways to get started is to come down to Adcock Park Velodrome on a Monday night in Summer, or a Monday or Wednesday night in Winter for Club Training.

We’re very fortunate to have a great velodrome in fantastic condition where you can get on a bike in a group environment without worrying about the road rules or traffic.  Because of this, it’s also very easy to get the kids involved.

There are 2 things you’ll need to get started.  The right gear, and a Cycling Australia licence.  The club has gear when you’re starting out, including some junior sized bikes. You do need to organise your Cycling Australia licence before you get on the track for insurance purposes, but you can get a 3 month licence to try the club out – details are here.

The best thing to do is to give us a call and we’ll put you on the right track.  Our contact info is here, depending if whether you’re interested in mens, women or junior cycling.
